Impressions in Isolation

$12.00Price

Written and/or revised during the COVID-19 pandemic (2020), these eight songs for high voice and piano represent a variety of text and mood as one is subject to during isolation (too much thinking?). From life to death to hope, there are songs about when we may travel again (“I Always Wanted to Go to Paris”), to songs of self-affirmation ("Be Who You Are”), to resolve after death (“Let This Darkness Be a Bell Tower”), to renewal (“I Feel a Resurgence”), and other moods around and in between. Texts are by Rilke, the Navajo, Larry Ebmeier, and the composer. Circa 20 minutes.
